Magic Tree House Novel Study

Magic Tree House is a classic children’s adventure course built around a fantasy story in which a pair of siblings discover a mysterious treehouse hidden deep in the woods—one that holds the power to travel through time. Guided by magical books, they journey across different historical periods, from the world of prehistoric dinosaurs to medieval castles, facing challenges that test their courage, intelligence, and ability to work together. In this course, students will explore themes such as bravery, curiosity, sibling relationships, and wisdom gained through experience. Through close reading, guided discussion, and structured writing activities, students will analyze plot structure, setting, and character development. Students will also engage in creative writing tasks such as rewriting key scenes, expanding adventure episodes, and crafting their own time-travel stories. The course strengthens reading comprehension and narrative writing skills while encouraging students to reflect on problem-solving, cooperation, and emotional growth.
